Dizzy problems....

Hello, I have a 1991 Ciivc hatchback.

2 weeks ago i went to start the car and it almost started and then died.. No spark so I ordered a new cardone dist.
After a few days of normal operation i took a 40 minute drive and parked, When i started the car i had a check light,
and then it started running terrible.(limp mode?) and i was lucky to get it off the road before it died, $260 towing bill.
Back home and off the truck it started up, went for a drive and back home, no issues. The next couple of days I got more check lights and learned
that if i shut it off immediately, it would start back up. Checked the computer expecting a code 15 for ICM but got a code 4, crank position sensor.
Ordered a new distributor.,a week later it arrived, Installed it and when I went to try and start the car i could see smoke coming from the dizzy and it
blew my 50 amp under the hood ignition fuse.
So rather than ordering a third dizzy, I took the icm, the coil and cap and rotor from the new one with the CPS code 4 and put them in my original dizzy.
The car started nice and was idling for about 10 minutes before I returned to see the car was dead and wouldn't start....ARRghhh(*&(*&)^&*^*(^(*!!!!!
Dizzy #3 (or 4 if I count the rebuilt one) will be arriving tomorrow... Could I be that unlucky to need a fourth distributor or am I missing something?
Ecu problem maybe??
Thanks for any info if anyone has gone through a similar ordeal.
