Replace inner tie rod end boot?

Hello CivicForums,

Well, my never-ending list of repairs continues. I was prepping my 1995 Civic DX for a brake fluid replacement, and I noticed that I have a torn tie rod end boot. It is the boot that is on the inner tie rod end (at the inside end). The tie rod end is still snug and has no play. Is it worthwhile to just replace the boot in this case or is that not advised? I am seeing differing advice online, but thought I'd ask for your thoughts. Thanks again,

Re: Replace inner tie rod end boot?

Definitely worth replacing the boot. You'll want to get an alignment after, so give the whole front end a good once-over to make sure there isn't anything else that needs replacement

Re: Replace inner tie rod end boot?

Thank you for your response Colin42. I read over my initial post and realize I really did not specify my question very well. I am wondering, is it OK to only replace the boot or is it best to purchase a whole inner TRE, outer TRE, and boot assembly with everything all clamped together?

Re: Replace inner tie rod end boot?

You can buy only the boot if that's all you need. Check the TREs as long as they're in good shape leave them alone.
You have to buy the inner and outer separate and then assemble
