tie rod boot... replace just boot or tie rod also
tie rod boot... replace just boot or tie rod also
do you ever get tired of just replacing everything on your car 1 part at a time?
94 civic dx 219,xxx. manual.
The boots are ancient and finally tore. I just changed the oil 2 weeks ago and rotated the tires. The boot wasn't torn then that i noticed, but i saw it today while doing some rust/bondo work. The grease inside was still clean so i dont think it has been exposed for long. I bandaged it up with a bike tire tube and zip ties to protect it for the time being until i get some free time and parts to do the repairs.
My question is, what is an approximate time to do the job, should i replace the tie rod as well and the ball joint, or just be lazy and do the boot only.
For anyone who has done the job, can you give a rough DIY?
