is my starter going bad

My 93 has been starting but today I went to start it and there was a click then I turned the key again and it turned over. I checked the battery connectors and the hot was a bit loose. I tightened it and it turned over. Now is my starter going bad or was it just my battery cable being loose. Its really hard for me to tell considering it turned iver before I tightened it

Re: is my starter going bad

could just be loose. altho ive seen a bad starter just click once and do nothing. may also be a loose cable so watch if it happens again. if it does, replace starter.

Re: is my starter going bad

the only ground the starter has is through the transmission case so after build up of grease and dirt a good ground can be lost. You rig up a wire from the negative battery post on your own though.
