Air Through Rad = Bad Temp Gauge Reading?

Been trying to figure out why my cluster temp gauge is fail.
It screams up to max but the engine doesn't seem to be overheating.
I've narrowed it down to when air is flowing through the radiator.
If the car is moving fast, even in neutral, it goes up.
If the fans come on it goes up, after the fans come on.

Any Ideas? Thanks kevin

try bleeding the air out. if the air never goes away (constant bubbles from the radiator fill neck), could be blown headgasket. are you losing coolant? may also be a failing ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor, which controls how the engine runs and also the coolant gauge.

Thanks Gearbox

Have bled the air. No bubbles.
Have replaced the HG.
No coolant loss.
'90 Civic has 2 sensors. ETC and Temp gauge sending unit.
I've replaced the Temp Gauge sending unit.

I put a "T" in the coolant line that goes from before the T-Stat to intake manifold and installed a mechanical temp gauge and brought a new temp gauge inside the vehicle. This gauge acts correctly. Slowly creeps up to 190F and then slowly varies between 180-190F depending on engine load, coolant fans being on, etc.

Inside gauge is only fail when air is coming through radiator. IE. car moving or cooling fans on.

Thanks Kevin

may as well replace the ect if you havent yet. ofcourse with sensors, always use an OEM honda part.
