2nd gear not grabbing

94 civic ex coupe with d16z6. Just recently when I go to put it into 2nd and let out the clutch it acts like it's in neutral. it will shift into second fine, just not always grab. If I push the clutch in and let it out again it works fine. but this issue only comes up probably 10% of the time. please help!

Re: 2nd gear not grabbing

Very strange. Is it grabbing well in all of the other gears, including 1st and 5th?

Sounds like a clutch sticking/slipping issue, but since it only happens in one gear, it could be something else.

Are you sure that it is all the way in gear? If you pull the shifter while double clutching, what do you feel? Does the shifter move a bit more?

Re: 2nd gear not grabbing

All other gears are very smooth and have no issues. It actually shifts great in general. MOST of the time, 2nd isn't an issue, it just seems like it isn't grabbing second at times. the shifter doesn't move more when I double clutching.
