94 civic dx 1.5 non vtec no start
Hi everyone (first post here). I'm having trouble with the car above, I tuned up the car new plugs (NGK), wires (Bosch) dist cap rotor autozone but the good one with brass instead of aluminum. as well as the o2 sensor. The car ran fine other than a slight miss at idle. during the tune up the rotary button was rusted onto the dizzy attempted prying it off failed i might add so I broke the plastic off used my dremel to split the metal and it came off no problem. Put everything back together and it will not start. wires are on correct did them 1 at a time. So I thought I must have damaged the dizzy trying to pry the button off, so I purchased a new dizzy put it in same thing no start. It is firing spark looks weak to me orange-red rather than blue. The fuel pump spins up and shuts off after a few seconds, so I opened the bleeder at the filter and there was plenty of pressure, and I can smell the gas after attempting to start a few times before checking the fuel. This car has me baffled. I have repaired my own cars as well as others for around 25 years and never had one do this. any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the ideals, I triple checked the firing order as I have learned to never say it cant be that when someone suggest a solution. firing order is correct. Flooding sounds correct but it never even tried to fire and run. I'm going to try replacing the new wires and plugs just to see what happens as i feel the spark looks weak. Any and all suggestions will be checked into thoroughly. I know from past experience the simplest things can cause major problems.
Thank You everyone!
Thank You everyone!

Did you accidentally put the new dizzy in backwards? I know they say it can't be done but trust me, it can. Yo will know when you try to pull it off. I broke the tabs off mine trying to pull it out.
Other than that, try to retrace your steps in everything you did.

I put #1 at tdc (white mark according to my service manual) removed the cap timing was correct, removed the 3 mounting bolts pulled the dizzy, then installed the new one ensuring the rotary button pointed to the #1 wire. I noticed the honda dizzy is about the same as vw and you can get it 180 degrees out of time.

Ok everyone problem solved car is running now. the roll pin was broke in the old dizzy so the engine was rotating but not the rotor, so it was 180 degrees out of time. its the simple stuff that will throw you off. Thanks for everyone help solving this issue looks like everyone was on target with what was going on.
