Non-LED Whiter Cluster/Climate Control Lights

I am wondering if there is any way to get brighter whiter light out of the cluster and climate control lights. I am not at all interested in the LED conversion due to the insane bright spots. I recently replaced my cluster lights with new #74 Long Life bulbs from Sylvania because they were burnt out and I was sad to see that even with new bulbs, they give off that same pale yellow white light that the cluster has. I'm wondering if there is any upgraded version of the #74 bulb that isnt necessarily brighter, but whiter. That pale color is so sad.

On a side note, has anyone found a way to get rid of the bright spots without soldering?

Thanks,

Matt
