Hey all I'm new here and fairly new with the Honda's. I bought a 98 Civic from a buddy a few months back and have rescued it back to health. It runs and drives great now but my exhaust is still quite annoying. The car came to me with a header going straight back to a flowmaster 40 and 2.5 inch pipe all the way. Now I get the dreaded weed eater between 3 and 4 grand :/ my muffler shop, (only guy that will touch this thing with no cat) wants to try a long glass pack in the middle section. Do you guys think this will tone the car down? I understand it may still be loud but I'm trying to get away from the annoying tin when I get on it. Other than that it's decent and throaty. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

-downpipe
-high flow cat.
- resonator

With some kind of muffler. I'm running the above with a straight through fart cannon, and she sounds great. But a more traditional muffler will lower the volume.

Well as I'm not running a cat I was hoping a nice long glass pack would double as a high flow and a resonator somewhat. They're practically the same. My local guy only really deals with glasspacks when I asked him. I could always grab the magnaflow from O'Reilly.

Well i got er figured out. All we needed to do was weld in a 24 in glasspacks a little smaller diameter than the piping and everything has smoother out and is damn near stock quiet WITHOUT a catalytic converter. Win win here. Thanks all. Popping a good tip on it for good measure 👌
