Gauge Cluster - No lights when it rains
Gauge Cluster - No lights when it rains
I have a 96 Civic coupe with an intermittent problem with the interior gauge cluster lights. Whenever I'm driving in the rain, the lighting around my speedometer, tach, gas gauge, etc all goes out. Once it stops raining and things dry out they begin working again, until the next time it rains. I can't find where the water is leaking in, but I'm also not really sure where to look. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Gauge Cluster - No lights when it rains
sounds like a bad ground for the cluster somewhere in the engine bay. or a loose battery cable or connector.i doubt water is actually leaking into the gauges, more likely water is getting around a loose ground in the engine bay somewhere.

It sounds to me like you have an exposed wire. Inspect the wires that go to/from your guage light and look for worn insulation or exposed copper, start under the hood and places that could get wet.
