Rep Power: 0 A/C: Pulling Evaporator, Replace Expansion Valve?
I'm pulling out my evaporator as part of the resealing project, since I have to replace a discharge hose and the condenser (leaks). Would there be any advantage to replacing the expansion valve while I have the evaporator out? A/C works fine...when it has freon.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

If I were just taking stuff apart I wouldn't waste my money replacing a working unit with a cheapo from most parts stores..
If it wasn't a problem before, It shouldn't be a problem when finished..
Cheapo parts: Creating more problems than you started with....and pulling your hair out because you can't believe a brand new part could ever be the cause of your new problems.
