Cross posting from Honda Tech. Looking for any and all ideas.

Ok, I've done lots of searching. It's hard to find an old thread that has my exact symptoms. I'm sure they're there, but tough to dig through everything.

so, I recently purchased a 98 Civic LX with the intentions of driving to and from work. The car will not start so I picked it up for a couple hundred bucks.

it is currently getting no spark. Through purchased parts, and parts laying around from a running car, I've changed the following:

Distributor (brand new)
ecu (from running car)
plugs (new)
wires (new)
crank sensor (new)

grounds have been checked, and the main relay seems fine. The fuel pump primes, the check engine light illuminates for a few seconds when I turn the key to on. I'm at a complete loss. I'm getting power to the ignition coil, which is new. Any ideas?
