Em1 CTR headlights

I got an Em1 with Ctr headlights. Passenger side headlight has 2 broken tabs. Trying to save these lights if possible. Has anyone ever replaced the back plastic piece & sealed back up? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Re: Em1 CTR headlights

I have to ask... What are CTR lights? What's special about them?

If you're on Facebook, Check out a group called Headlight Junkies. They might be able to help you... Sounds like it's easily repairable. Any pics?

Re: Em1 CTR headlights

Taking apart headlights is actually really easy. Lots of people do it for HID retrofits. Ive done it many, many times on my 2002 civic and once on my buddy's 1998 civic. Remove bulbs, bake them in the oven for like 10 minutes at 200-210 f, carefully pry apart. You shouldn't need to replace the glue, but if you need, 3m windoweld is what you want to buy. A little goes a long way

To put em back together, rest the clear front lens on the back, bake again for 10 minutes, remove from oven, line it up nicely and press em together until cool. Ive seen people use a number of spring clamps along the edge to hold them firmly together until the glue cools
