High pitched whistling noise 98 civic ex

The past two days, I’ve noticed a high pitch whistling/whining noise on cold starts under the hood. Noise will decipitate after a few minutes. Here’s a rough timeline of maintaince history.

Automatic Transmission
193k miles - Apparent, high pitched whining noise
130k miles - Spark plugs, valve adj
100k miles - timing belt

Probably need a new serpentine belt. Cheap easy fix. Inspect it for wear or just replace if it has some miles on it.

um.. there is no serpentine belt on the 96-2000 civic. I think you meant to say check the drivebelts (there are 3, power steering, a/c, alternator) for proper tension or just replace if they're old enough to slip and cause noise.
