Rear Lower Motor Mount?

1997 Civic EX coupe (stock), A/T, 150k miles

Looks like I'll be replacing one or more motor mounts as well. I haven't had time to visually check them but, the symptoms are:

1) excessive vibration at full stop, when car is in drive (A/T) and brake pedal depressed. Does not vibrate in neutral or while driving.
2) While driving: when slowing down to stop, but not completely stopping, and then accelerating again can feel the motor shift front to back..slight jerky motion in cabin
4) Son help me check: Hood up watching engine (from side of car), car in drive while some simultaneously brakes (fully depressed with left foot) and slowly accelerates fuel pedal (right foot). Engine lifts up more than normal and can hear faint metal tapping sound in both drive and reverse.

I bought (limited) lifetime Anchor brand solid mounts for it in January.. 6K miles ago. I know Anchor mounts are sub-par (crap, even) but, I didn't want to invest much in the car.
In a recent a/c belt removal + timing belt check with crankshaft pulley and upper and lower TB cover removed I needed to lower engine. I used a jack with a small piece of 2x4 wood under the oil pain to support the engine. I may have lowered the engine around 4 or so inches and not sure if this may have effected the mount(s)?

That doesn't hurt good original mounts. I let that sucker drop as far as it will go when doing a timing belt job.

Solid? Really solid mounts? As in all steel no rubber?

excessive vibration
You put in aftermarket mounts and you complain about vibration LOL

Have you tried to neutralize the mounts yet?

I was more concerned about damaging the exhaust pipe/cat converter while lowering the engine.

Solid rubber (not hydraulic)

Guilty. The vibes aren't to bad until now..when one of them is torn or possibly mounting bolts have loosened.

The exhaust has flex joints and the pipe hangers on the body are rubber, there's a lot of 'give'. I've never had an issue letting the engine drop for a t-belt job.

Also, good to know. I just don't recall having any mount issues until I lowered the engine last week. When I do the a/c bearing I plan to look at all the mounts closely and get it figured out. I might even give all the mounts the Honda Tech special: fill them with 3M window weld polyurethane...LOL
Probably would void warranty.

That's where the LOL comes in.. I was joking because I know it will surely increase vibration.,, but, the kids on HT post about them a lot. I have a 70 durameter rear motor (transmission) poly mount on my Mazda 3 and it was rough for about 5K miles but, now it's barely noticeable. It definitely helps reduce wheel hop and seems to help the M/T shift smoother.

I read over (twice) the motor mount neutralizing link you posted and it makes sense now why to follow that procedure. I now suspect it may be the driver's side top mount. Binding probably occurred by not following those directions, as I just tightened down by feel, and most likely engine torque ripped the mount. I actually hope it's that mount as it's easy to change. I will check all the mounts over.
