It sounds like your TPS is acting buggy.

Re: Miss fire 96 civic

If it was running well, you changed the plugs, and now it is misfiring-

First thing- double check and make sure you installed the correct plugs.

If they are the correct plugs for the application, make sure they are NGK or Denso. Some Hondas have been known to be very picky about what plugs they are happy with.

Not saying other brands never work, but other brands have been known to be rejected by their Honda :-)

Check the gaps in the plugs also, even though most of the upper range plugs come pre-gapped, a small jolt while they are still in the box or during installation could throw it off. Just speaking from experience I have had with my truck.

Did you ever manage to check the cam timing or ignition timing?

Why in the he!! didn't you mention this in your other thread?

Top range means "highest profit margin".

Throw those away and buy the correct NGK plugs.

Not kidding one bit.
Botch plugs are the first things to go when looking for driveability problems.

This handy tool here will install Botch plugs directly into the dumpster from 20 paces with amazing accuracy:

Not kidding one bit about this either. I keep it in one of the toolboxes at work.
