cracked cylinder head signs

Ok I have a 98 ex d16y8. I will be replacing the 3rd hg this year here shortly. I was wondering if there are any signs of a cracked head that I would be able to tell with the head still on the car. I dont wanna spend the money to get it pressure checked if its cracked....if I can help it. That's just money I could be putting toward the new head. Also any info on where to get good price on a reman head would be great. Found one for 300 on ebay with a warranty

When youve been doing the head gaskets have you been getting the heads checked? You should be. Is the same shop doing the head gasket every time?

You should get a thorough inspection done of the head. It's probably the cause of your head gasket problems. If the head gasket comes back clean it's possibly a block problem. However, I don't understand why the shop would change the head gasket x3 and not find out why they are blowing. How many miles inbetween head gasket failures?

Re: cracked cylinder head signs

It was a junkyard mechanic and all I could afford. I usually do all my own work just didn't have time. I think imma pull the head and get it cleaned and inspected. Get it milled if it passes and needs it. Hopefully I dont have to buy another head for it. Thanks for all input. Will update after I find out more
