Am I the first member to blow their engine?

This totaly sucks!!!! my engine blew up, and I want even driving the car hard. I shifted into third gear at around 5,600 rpm's and heard a really loud pop and when I looked down at my gauges my tack needle had hit that little pin and broke off!!!!!!!!! So I got the car towed to my local deelership and the first thing they did was tell me that this is what I get for modifying my car, well when they ripped the engine apart they found out that my timeing belt had streched and caused an exhaust valve to hit the piston wich bent the valve, wich intern cracked the head, wich shreaded the rest of my valve train. The good news is that I got my car fixed under warenty, the bad news is that I have no car for like 2 weeks and Im too young to get a rental car.

That sucks dude. Well at least it is still covered by warrenty!! So it wasn't the modifying that caused the engine to blow?? Good luck with that.

F* them; that wasnt from modifying your car, it was from the timing belt slipping off allignment or just a crappy timing belt. its not like you have any internal mods but you do have the E-ram how is that thing?

Honda of america investigated it and said that there was no evidence that my modifications caused the belt to strech, there also fixing my transmision (bad shifts in 3rd gear) under warenty as well.

Which model did you get, and how much did you pay for it?
All feedback greatly appreciated dude.

If the tach needle hit the pin, you were at like 9,000. This is a Civic, not an S2000 Sounds like a 2nd to 1st shift, but glad it is under warranty........

Yeah man thats what you get for modding the car, J/K. But yeah it must have been the tint job or hyper whites that did it, he he.

Sorry, but I am glad that they fixed it for you, Honda comes good once again.

Timing belt stretched? Hum... I wonder what would cause that? Maybe hot weather and prolonged driving? I need to check the tension on my belt now.

Another person downshifting to 3rd from 5th? You guys are gonna kill third gear and tranny just like this guy did. But I hope that wasn't the case. (Please tell me you didn't...)

Oh, and no you're not the first member to blow their engine. I remember there was this girl who blew her engine. It appeared that her car was a defect.

EDIT: AND it resulted her into getting a new car...

1st to blow an engine, no. 1st to blow an engine in this forum, perhaps.

What did you do, put rice pudding in your gas tank?

ok im only going to explain this one time, it was a normal 2nd to 3rd upshift I didnt miss the gear. The engine reved really high after I heard the loud boom. The e-ram had NOTHING to do with my engine blowing, it wasnt even on the car at the time! And I know that I was trying to sell the e-ram before but at this point I wouldnt buy one, the one or two HP isnt worth the money. Honda of America told my local dealer that it wasnt because of my mods and the fixed the car for free and I still have my warenty. So its all good honda came through for me, I was not abusing my car (5th-3rd downshift, missed gear), it was not b/c of my mods and the E-Ram had nothing to do with it.
