96 ex passenger window
96 ex passenger window
When i got my 96 civic i was told the passenger window worked just needed a switch...it was rolled up so i figured it was no big deal because it was winter. As it got warm i was driving hit the switch by mistake and it went down...i was ecstatic! Didn't last long...some days it would work others it didn't. So...i figured the regulator was shot so i bought a new one and two switches for each door. I swapped them and still the same problem...the window worked while i was adjusting the glass...lubed the window channel...rolled it up...won't come down...no movement whatsoever...am i missing something!?
Re: 96 ex passenger window
I also have a 96 model and have similar problems with me passenger side power windows. it goes down , but not up.. (somtimes it will randomly go up on switch press);
did you get anywhere with your problem?

Re: 96 ex passenger window
Yep...someone the problem might be a broken wire...so i traced the wires and sure enough it was. The wire broken was in the wire harness inside the boot on the driver's door. It was a ground wire that i guess would occasionally touch and connect as i opened and closed the door which is why the window would work sometimes. As i look for another harness i temporarily ran the wire around the existing harness, through the door panel, to the wire inside the door...i have wiring schematics if you need...
