97 EX ELD Question

My 97 EX 5-sp is matching some of the symptons described in other threads concerning the ELD...headlights acting funny, A/C blower speed fluctuating. Checked the wiring harness under the engine & it's fine (a service bulletin). I assume I'll have to change the entire fusebox to solve the problem? My question is, would this also impact the performance of the car while the A/C is running? Seems very sluggish while accelerating with it on. Turn it off and there is a very noticeable difference in not only acceleration, but the smoothness of the acceleration as well. Seems to bog pretty bad...I have to switch the A/C off to pass on 2 lanes.

I know its a small engine and I don't expect it to straighten my arms out when I downshift & pass, but it seems weaker than it should be. Recently changed plugs & air filter...rotor looked fine.

Thanks!

Re: 97 EX ELD Question

My '96 DX error code for the ELD turned out to be false/misleading. Turned out it was the black/yellow wire you mentioned. As long as you were under there did you insulate it? Also, you can't see it without taking the bracket off and even then you might not see it. This link I got from elsewhere on this forum has some good pics: http://www.sparkys-answers.com/2009/...use-blown.html It also threw out false codes intermittently over time for the speed sensor, alternator, O2 sensors, cat., and even the ECM. I guess anything connected to that 12v line could mislead you. Insulate those wires and maybe it will keep you from chasing your tail like I did.
