Car Moisture Issues

When my friend painted the car he ripped off the sub-seal to my driver side door. When I got the car back from him it wasn't a problem then. A couple months after, there was a big storm out here and water got in my car. I came back to it and there was mold over every surface of that car. I cleaned it up, replaced the sub-seal and weatherstrips, removed the carpet after failing to clean it up, and scrubbed the floors with diluted bleach.

I thought it was fine after all that but when I put the seats back in, I started to smell the mildew again. After inspecting the car, the bottom of the sound proofing mat that goes from the floor up the firewall is green. Is that normal? I'm not sure what it looked like before. If so is that an easy replacement.

I was moving the car earlier and I felt the ceiling and it is damp as well. I thought I fixed the issue of leaks but where else would it be coming from? I'm about to replace the seal around the windshield soon as I call the guys to remove the glass. What else should I replace?

Re: Car Moisture Issues

water can take forever to evaporate so its possible you still have water in there from before. try to leave the windows open and park in the sun as much as possible. the sound mat you can just scrape off, it doesnt really do anything and it should be brown not green.
