Show Me Your Trunks :) Gotta Build It Out This Weekend - Need Help!
Hey guys. I got my 1000/1 in today, and my trunk demands a new face. I need to see peoples trunks with a 4 channel amp and a 1000/1. I dont wanna mount anything on the seats, and already have the square sealed box for the 12W7 made. I will be limited to MDF. Lets see it Thanks a bunch!

detailed info would be greatly appreciated that is.. if you audio gods got extra time

mike,
I got done typing abotu half the process (you knwo how long my poasts are ) then i realized that its really install specific. what works for me wont work for others....
1/4 inch plexi is fine for yoru trunk unless you are hauling around bench pressing weighs, wich even then itll support easily unless you decide to load them into yoru open trunk from 2 yards away
when you make yoru floor, make sure its at least 1/ inch thick, and jsut route out 1/4 inch from it, teh beast way to put it in (most secure with least amount of work) is to cut yrou plexy 1/8th an inch too small, so its got 1/16th an inch on all sides. when you carpet the board, the plexi needs to be wedged in and will be tight and secure, and most importantly, flush.
as to mounting the amplifiers, there are 1000 ways to do it, you can bolt it directly to teh metal, you can bolt it to a piece of wood, you can bolt it to the board the plexi is flushmounted to, etc etc etc, there are so many options, theres really no way you CANT do it!

thanks for the addition pics aldini.. tahts what i need. id probably gonna do something similiar. and also i need to make it so that my spare tire is easy to get to in a jam. so multiple trunk floor peicies seem like a good idea.
thanks rabbit for the tip on plexi glass cuting and mounting to the floor.
you guys rock!

Does anyone have plans or drawings or instructions? Otherwise I'm gonna go attack it. I'll probably just make a big piece of plywood to cover the floor (kinda like it is already) and cut a giant hole to stick my sub box (facing up) into, so it'll sink into the spare tire well. Then I'll just carpet it, and mount the amps on either side.
instructions: use common sense
goals: #1 can see the amplifiers
#2 cant see wires
#3 can toss junk back there if desired, without worrying about stereo.
#4 reliability, will have 1-3 set tomorrow, the next day, the next day and next year.
there really are no instructions, you may have restrictions you personally want. take aldini's design, for example. a killer design! can you see how bombproof that would be? it raises the floor a significant distance, to be sure, but he's gonna have that perfect floor finished 5 years from now! thats a design that will LAST! you add plexi and neons, and you have a nice chunk of show to go along with that bombproof sturdyness, exactly what you were looking for!
