The correct way to do it would be to get 1 ground distribution block (around $20-$30). They normally have 1 input of 4 or 8 guage and 4 ouputs of 8 guage. Run your single ground into it and then 1 out to each amp. Also you should get 1 fused power distribution block ($30-$40) and fuses. These also mormally are 4 or 8 guage in with 2-4 outputs of 8 guage. Run 1 output to each amp and put a fuse in the block that matches the draw of your amplifiers. Also make sure you still use a fuse under the hood, the fused distribution blocks are not designed to replace that.

You really don't even need distro blocks but to do it the proper way, then you should have them. Who over told you that you had too much power to the battery has no idea what they are talking about.

You shouldnt have problems with draining the battery as long as your alternator is fine. If your worried about it then you can add a 1 farad cap or even 2.
