Trunk Covering

Hey guys. When I installed the first stage of my system, I put down a piece of 1" thick plywood in my trunk, and put some carpet on it (Two pieces), and it just doesnt look very good. What have you guys done? Any way to make the trunk look really good?

looks good is in the eye of the beholder. what you think isnt so good looking others might think looks really good. do you have any pics? it would be far easier if we had an idea of why you think its ugly, cause a carpeted 2 piece floor sounds pretty good to me.....

I used 3/4 MDF and cut out the shape of the old board and then covered it with vinyl. I used 3M adhesive spray
and staples for the back side. TITE if i may say so myself it was a lot of fun and it looks really good

When you used the 3/4" MDF, does it stick up a lot? Is there like, a plateau? I know the stock board is a lot thinner.

it wasnt bad actually. i had the same thoughts. It looks nice because the vinyl gives it a custom touch.
you have to use expensive vinyl though cuz the cheap stuff looks like crap and can tear easily when you
try to stretch it around those corners. Mine was $6.25 a yard and it took 2 1/2 yards to complete. It
actually fits quite perfectly once you see it in there. I know it's a lot thicker but it turns out ok.

I did the same.

Plywood, some spray adhesive, and carpet material from the local shop.

A pic would really help us understand what you are having issues with.
