You should cut some MDF baffles out and mount the baffles to the door with liquid nails chalking and some countersunk sheet metal screws.
this way you have an air tight mounting platform to mount your new speakers in. What I do on all my door installs is if you have the old speaker trace it on the MDF so you have the perfect outside pattern, then draw a cricle with a compass for the diameter of the cut out of the speaker you plan to install.
This gives you perfect baffles that are easy to make. As far as fishing the speaker wire into the door (if your not using a amp I'd image you'd skip this) I use heavy duty zip ties that are 24" long. Start inside the door and fish it into the car, once a few inches is in the car, tape the wire to the end and pull thourgh. There you go. If you have anymore questions feel free to email me. (P.S. --if your going to use dyanamat go for the extreme type it's easier to install and is better then the standard black stuff.)

SCOCHE makes adapters for our car. it was included with the speakers i ordered. the only thing you have to do is drill 3 holes into the door frame. the only online store i can think of that sells it is sound domain

You are going to need some spacers most likely. YOu can get those at about any car audio shop for around 10 bucks or so. Center those over the factory speaker holes and tape them in place. Then, take a drill and drill the holes to screw the spacer to the door. The spacers already have places for screws. Then, screw the spacer to the door. Lastly, screw the speakers to the spacer.
You could make your own but its much easier to just buy the ready made spacers. I used some foam wheather stripping inbetween the spacer and speaker and around the inside of the spacer itself. I figured that it would prevent any kind of vibration between the mid-woofer and the spacer.
I ran the speaker wire from inside the car into the doors throught the factory rubber boot that has the power door/window wires in it. I use twisted wire so it was very stiff and somewhat easy to get through the boot. I imagine that regular lamp wire would be a pain. Hanger would work but be careful about poking through the boot or damaging the factory wires. Route the speaker wire under some factory wiring in the door to help secure it away from moving parts and zip tie in place.
You also may have to cut away some of the speaker ring on the inside of the door panel itself. It could potentially press up aganst the mid-woofer and damage it or not allow the panel to snap back on completely. I cut all of mine away the panel still wouldn't fit all the way back but it isn't noticeable.
YOU NEED TO SPECIFY WHAT SPEAKERS you are putting in!!

BECAUSE the hole in the door is very small to accomodate the factory speakrs puny magnet... aftermarket speakres require a larger diamter mounting hold as well as clearance for the magnet so the window doesnt hit it. I had to cut like 1" thick MDF rings and screw that into the door then screw the speakers into that, the door panel didnt quite fit all the way back on in the corner, but I'm not worried about it because you can't see it and the door closes just fine....
