thtas the idea. ever wonder why a pioneer p1R looks pretty lame yet costs $1200 or more?

now as far as looks: your a thief. you look into a car, and it looks like a stcok deck. your gonna break into the car? what abotu the car that just drove by in the lot whose cabin is LIT UP by a BRIGHT BLUE light? you KNOW thats a pioneer organic EL radio.......

Rep Power: 0 The higher end Eclipse looks quite nice [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]. The Naks always Ugly and look OEM.. both have extremely high quality D/A Converters and output stages...Pioneer has good quality extremely mass produced parts so there's bigger tolorences with part quality....
Every person who's switched from say Alpine, or Pioneer, to Eclipse..or Nak always praise them and claim to notice much crisper dynamic sound....IMO Nak uses awesome DAC's but their output stage is lackig due to lower voltage.. 4 volts listed.. 2.2 when you actually test them. So if your cars noise free it's awesome.. Eclipse on the other hand..with the 5volt+ units have the cleanest output stages of ANY hu's on the market. the DAC's are just high sensitivity but otherwise run of the mill stuff.

ive always had eclipse decks except once i got a great deal on panisonic. and i wont go back.

Rep Power: 0 Well dayum. I have been a fan of alpine decks for a long time. I always heard that if you want quality and clarity, get an alpine or eclipse. I have never nor would I consider any brand besides those 2. I hadn't heard of the Nakamichi brand prior to reading this thread. I am impressed with the music that comes out of my alpine everytime I listen to it. I can't imagine it getting better. however, I just might give the eclipse a try here one day...
