see now, that all depends on how hardcore you are about your security... in other words, how much work are you willing to put into it
A local shop i've seen install a few alarms on our cars does it behind the little compartment thing on the drivers side by your knees...
a friend of mine who did it a little bit more intensively put it around where the headunit is... its all up to you... theres 2 factors to it... can the wiring reach there, and can the unit fit... if you want to get extremely hardcore, you can put it behind the dash gauges or somewhere far in there... but the easiest is by the little compartment because a lot of the wiring is near there as well.

sorry this is kinda off topic, but a friend of mine
BRIAN has the problem that a ton of people spell his name BRAIN.
thatz the first time that I've ever seen the reverse happen.
(in case u don't know what I'm talking about.... the title is where to hide the brian on alarm)
I think that the factory hides the brain of the OEM alarm over by the stearing coloum.
I've also seen people who install it behind the glove box, or by the HU.

I was actually working on another of my cars tonight (make and model will not be mentioned for fear of going deaf from the immense volume of all the laughter) and noticed that they had actually put the brain under the dash on top of the steering column which I thought was rather ingenious.. simply because of the amount of work it would take to get to it. Now I haven't seen what it looks around the steering column on our cars but if you can do it, I'd put it there.
