"More Power" ~tim taylor.
the stereo system that i will be put in to my car soon is going to be drawing a lot of power and i would like to know what you guys and gals think is the best decision of my options. 1- a new high output alternator. this would probably be the least hassel but they are pretty expensive from what i hear (upwards of $500). 2- stock alternator and battery with a capacitor (sp?). my younger brother worked in a car stereo store for a while and he used one in his gf's GS-R and it seems to do the trick and not terribly expensive but more wiring than a new alternator. 3- and this last one is new to me...the same brother that put a capacitor in his gf's car told me i should use a second battery with a smart switcher. i think he said the battery is a gel-cell, whatever that is; he said the battery goes in the trunk and then the smart switcher takes power from whatever battery has it if one is lower than the other. we didnt get into too much detail about the whole thing but my brother said this would be the best choice and it would all look better with the rest of the amps and subs in the trunk etc. this one he said is more wiring than the other two but it would be the cheapest because i can get the stuff a pretty much cost. i would imagine the new alternator would give me the least about of trouble but i really dont pretend to know too much about all of that stuff and thats why i am asking all of you. thanks
