headlight bulb recommendations
sorry for the simple question but what bulb do you use? what do you think is best? the bulbs i bought was out of emergency and its not as bright/clear as i hoped it would be
Re: headlight bulb recommendations
Yeah, I used to use the Silverstars and then once I retrofitted, I wished I had done it long ago! Check the link in my sig for my results, or look around online. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/com...-3-kit-h1.html is a really good bet for a full kit.
Re: headlight bulb recommendations
your problem is most likely haze buildup on your lens, not the bulb

You could always run to autozone and waste your money on some nice law enforcement blue hue headlights everyone is rocking these days.

Silverstar Ultras are nice.. Sure. Slightly brighter than OEM and they last about 1/20th of the time. Don't expect to get much more than 6 months to a year out of a set and they are ridiculously expensive. Go OEM and clear your lenses. At least you won't blind others.
Re: headlight bulb recommendations
Just my $0.02 here, but IMO it is worth the investment into a set of retrofitted headlights if you plan to keep the car a while. Nothing will give you results like a projector/HID combo. I had the ones in my Stratus Coupe retrofitted and the difference was increadible. Considering doing the same to my Civic after a complete suspension overhaul but I think they have a pretty good setup for OE(my '96 DX does at least). Don't be the guy with HIDs in factory reflectors, just alot of wasted light.
Next best thing would be the Mequiars kit with the yellow buffing wheel for the drill. Compounds and Sealants last for a number of uses and if you need more paper just buy a 3M variety pack of 1000/2000/3000 grits and you will be set. I've done my two cars at least 3 times a year for the past couple years and still have tons of stuff left.
Silverstars are good, but they do burn out quicker than regular bulbs. I swear by them, put them in all my cars pre-retrofit.
