Default guage brightness when headlights are on

I have an 03 Civic sedan and on the guage cluster it has the **** to adjust the brightness. I have my brightness all the way up. However, when you turn on the headlights, the brightness goes down a notch.

Is there any way to make it so that when the headlights come on it doesn't dim the guages? It's just a pain to always adjust the brightness back up each time I put the lights on.

Thanks

I believe you just turn it all the way up with your lights on and that becomes the setting..... I have mine basically off when the lights are turned on and im pretty sure thats how I did it.

I believe that's correct too.

Adjust dash brightness with the headlights off, then turn the headlights on and readjust the dash brightness again.

yes, its an auto feature.

its better to have a dim cluster and a dim cabin at night...tht way you can see the road better.

Re: Default guage brightness when headlights are on

if its the new cluster with blue or red rings and white numbers (03-05 lx/ex), then it has two brightness saves. one for park and one for daytime. so if you want full bright at night, you simply turn the park lights on, then turn the dimmer **** of the cluster to full bright and it will save it. but imo, the new clusters are way too bright for night driving on the daytime setting. older cluster (01-02 lx/ex and 01-05 dx/vp) does not have separate brightness memory.
