water problems
OK, everytime it rains the inside of my doors get soaked. The problem is, I recently installed tweeters on my HX with the OEM pods. Whenever it rains, the tweets start popping and eventually turn off. I'm assuming their connections are getting wet. Anyone else had this problem...is the a good way to prevent the doors from getting soaked on the inside? I'm thinking of putting wireloom and tape around all the wires...I just don't know how long this solution will work.

I got the OEM pods from my local dealer. Their the ones from an EX coupe...I don't know if they're the same as the sedan. So, my car letting water into the panels isn't normal? Everything looks OK when I pop them off...I just figured it was seeping in thru the window?

I have an EX coupe & never had this problem. Myself, I am running MB Quart components & they tweets mounted SOOOO Nicely in the stock pods. Try somw weather stripping inside the EX pods or some silicone (??). That might help. Anyway, good luck & let us know what solves your problem.

Its so funny that you posted this because I am having the same problem. Except, its not my tweeters getting wet. When I took my door of to replace my alpines with the new focal's i got there was a puddle of water sitting in the bottom of my door and the whole back side of my speaker was soaked. You should see my alpine. The basket is rusted. I tried silling some places up with silicone but some water is still getting in. I can't figure out where its coming in. I know some water is expected to get there thats why we have drain holes in the bottom of the door but to have it just sit there in a puddle.

<< did you remove the plastic water barrier from the door and forget to install it??.. >>
Nope, and I checked to make sure it wasn't torn or anything last time I had the panels off.

Yep...I have the puddle too. The tweets themselves aren't getting wet...it must be the wire connectors.

I have the same problem. There is no bare metal on the back of my speakers, so water isn't a problem. The connector getting wet is a problem though. I need to shorten the wire so that it hangs down instead of laying down. I also need a connector just like the OEM one so that the installation is nice and neat. I removed the water barrier because I will be putting on sound deadening material on the metal. I guess that after I do that I should make a new water barrier. The water getting in is normal though; as was said, that's what the drain holes are for.
