$10 PAYPAL REWARD - Help me get fog lights working!
$10 PAYPAL REWARD - Help me get fog lights working!
$10 paypal reward for whoever helps me get these fog lights working.
Details: 2004 Honda Civic EX coupe
Purchased fog lights from ebay, here is the link to the specific kit from the actual seller that I bought:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...item588e73e569
Obviously they came with no instructions
, so I was using the factory install guide found here:
http://www.handa-accessories.com/civic/04-civfogex.pdf
Problem:
I cannot get them to work. Before anyone ask's, I've done a weeks worth of searching everywhere on install guides/tips. I found several different threads show multiple guides/tips, but now that I've got the kit and went to install them, nothing was very helpful. It seemed as though everyone used a different way to wire them and none of the kits seemed to be alike.
I've tried multiple different ways of wiring them up with absolutely no results. FYI, the fuse is fine (I even replaced it just in case) and the bulbs are fine, so let's rule those out immediately. Whoever helps me get them working will receive a $10 paypal gift. Thank you.

The interior wires (I removed the plastic that wrapped them all together to check for issues). The bottom part is the "replica factory switch", the yellow wire goes through the firewall and connects to the wire coming from the (supplied) relay (that's hooked up under the hood) that's then hooked up to a fuse, which is then connected to the battery.

The red wire in the middle top part is the wire that comes in through the firewall from the relay. The red wire on the far right has a 1 pin harness that plugs into the under dash fuse box in an unused spot. The black wire between these two wires (it's hard to see in this picture is the ground wire) which is grounded.

This picture shows the brown harness (in the middle of the picture) that plugs into the under dash fuse box. That's as far it can go in the fuse box. The red wire on the left is the wire that comes in through the firewall that's connected to the relay.

This is where ground wire (from the above pictures) is grounded.

This is how the wires are arranged under the hood. The red wire on the far left goes through the firewall and connects to the wires from the pics above.
The next several pictures show how all the wires under the hood are connected. The black box (with the two red wires going into it) is the fuse box, the other black box (with the white connector going into it with a black, red, white and blue wire) is the 12v relay.

This picture shows where these wires are grounded (see the top middle of the picture) and the wires then run down and plug directly into the light bulbs.

This is how the positive wire is connected to the car battery.

Re: $10 PAYPAL REWARD - Help me get fog lights working!
The route of your problem is trying to use an OEM foglight install guide for an ebay kit, that will not work.
Have you seen this diy?

The only thing not included in this picture is the wire that you run through the car and connects the two wires (indicated by the navy ms paint circle in the below picture in the top of pic). Its hard to see, but there is a yellow wire in the top right-hand set of wires.
Re: $10 PAYPAL REWARD - Help me get fog lights working!
You have everything right but the Brown plug with red wire is where your messing up. You have to get rid of that plug and expose the wire and connect it to a 12v source. I had mine connected behind the cigar/aux power. And if that solves you problems you can keep the ten bucks.
Edit: you dont have to rig it as ghetto as i did put the only reason i put it there is because the lights turned of when the ignition is not on so i would not forget and have a drain battery.

Yes I saw that other thread, it wasn't helping too much though.
If anyone has any other suggestions please post them, I'm going to go try the cigarette hook up and we'll see how that goes!
