no sound!

hello, i recently installed 6 1/2 front speakers and 6x9 rear speakers in my 02 lx coupe..for some reason i am not getting any sound..if i hit the door panel on the passengers side sometimes it'll come back on for awhile, then it'll just cut off..head unit is working..the front speakers are at 175rms and the rear are at 125..i dont know if that could be the problem..the wiring is sound, i bought adapters that go right on the factory ones..i dont have an amp or a sub either..the head unit is 50w x 4, any help would be appreciated, or a direction to start in

Re: no sound!

Re-check your position of the terminals on the speakers, if speakers get slightly turned during the install they can easily short to the metal of the door. Your protection circuit kicks in and kills the sound.

Re: no sound!

I had this happen on my 05 after installing some Pioneer replacements, I twisted one slightly and it was shorting to the metal. It stops both channels from working when it happens.
