Power lock Problem

Hey guys. Its been cold here for the last couple of days (-10c to -15c) and when i use my keyless entry my door wont unlock. I have to use the key to open the door. Even once inside the car i cannot lock or unlock the door with the power lock button. I can hear it trying to unlock but it wont. But this only happens if the car has been sitting overnight. It did this a few times last year but it does it everyday now. Also how do you enter the car without the factory alarm going off if your remote dies. I am just waiting for it not to work one day.

Re: Power lock Problem

change the battery if youre worried. once a year is cheap insurance. you actually have a factory alarm? or just keyless. i bet its your door lock actuators getting weak if you hear noises but lock doesnt come up.

Re: Power lock Problem

My passengers side kept getting slower over time and made more and more noise when operating. Sounds like the classic Honda actuator.

Re: Power lock Problem

The battery is new. I dont really know if it is keyless entry or an alarm pruchased the car used if i dont open using the keyless entry the horn goes off and the lights flash. Do you think honda will replace the actuator under warranty? The only issue here is I live 1 hour away from the nearest honda dealership and i bet the lock will work fine when i get there.

Re: Power lock Problem

You can tell if factory alarm you will have a Honda fob and the little stickers on the driver & passenger windows will tell. Use the fob button to unlock and release alarm, then quickly use the key to unlock drivers door and open and it should not go off.

The warranty is 3 years 36k miles.
