Attempt on removing the cluster circuit board on Civic 2003

Hey

Anybody has attempted removing the cluster circuit board on Civic 01-03?

Better yet, anybody attempt removing the eeprom 93C56 that stores mileage?

Thanks for all your answers,

Re: Attempt on removing the cluster circuit board on Civic 2003

Something I picked up from computers classes was that eeprom's can be erased with a magnet right over the hole for the chip. and taking either of them off only requires desoldering or careful pulling and a screw driver. I wouldn't play with either, however, as erasing the mileage will probably break the chip and your cluster while at it and there is no point in doing such a thing as you cannot add mileage to the electronic clusters properly. Whatever your plans were with this I would give it up as tampering with car mileage is illegal.
