HID help plz (searched)
I checked out many of topics on HID problems and decided to ask my own question, i have and HID for a 2003 civic coupe and i have tried numerous different wiring combinations and have came up with 2 solutions that actually work . When i turn on my lo-beams, the dash shows the high beam symbol but when i turn my hi-beams on it lights up brighter and the lights stay the same. I thought this kit had a different light for Hi and Lo beam, which is why there is a peanut bulb attatched to the light. Is this the proper way to install this kit or is my car going to catch fire in the next couple of days?

Re: HID help plz (searched)
sounds find as long as you have the proper wiring harness. if they provided one and you installed it correctly, then ur fine.
does ur hid lowbeam stay on (actual light) when you turn the high beam on?

Re: HID help plz (searched)
its because you have a 03 so your have h4 lights which is just one bulb that acts as the high and low. The 04-05's have separate high and lows. I believe you have to wire the harness slightly different to keep the high beam symbol from coming on.
I think gearbox wrote a diy on this. You should PM him.

With the lo-beams on the HID's are completely fine, when i switch to Hi-beam they are the exact same light but often one flickers out. I don't know if that helps

Re: HID help plz (searched)
So here's all the info: I have the HID's hooked up and working fine EXCEPT, my dash HI-beam icon is on all the time with the lights turned on at the regular LO-beam setting, when i switch to HI-beam they work for a few seconds then one shuts off or sometimes both shut off. I removed the DRL fuses as i was told to from this site saying the HID's will not work unless thats removed. The only things i would like to know are: Should my Hi-beam icon be on ALL the time like it is? I have no drl's because of removing the fuse so the little peanut bulbs attatched do absolutely nothing, and should they turn off like that in HI-beam mode. Also when i turn my lights on i have to turn them on and off a few times for them to be brightest sometimes they are dim. I dont' think im drainng too much power from my headunit or my 1 10" subwoofer, anyone like to give some insight?
Thanks very much for previous posts.

i would do it on the aftermarket harness. in case you go back to stock and need the factory connector working properly.
Re: HID help plz (searched)
Well I tried that and it didn't fix anything. The headlights didn't even come on at all. Right now I've got the low beams on and the only thing thats really bothering me is the high beam dash light is on (very dim).

Re: HID help plz (searched)
okay well try the stock harness plug then. it should open up and the metal spades come out if you find that metal tab inside and push it flat with a small screwdriver. then bend the tab again before pushing it into the new spot so it clicks into place.
