Question constant 12v wire doesn't have power

I just got an '01 Civic LX, and I am trying to install a new head unit in it, but the wire that's supposed to have constant 12v, doesn't. So the only way it works right now is if I power it all off of the switched 12v, and that sucks, cuz it resets when I turn the ignition off. HELP!!!

or just run a thicker hardwire from the battery. will make the deck work better anyway cause it gets more power. stock wires are tiny.

Re: constant 12v wire doesn't have power

Like electric said it is not normal, If you radio resets when you turn off the ignition, you either have it hooked up wrong or the fuse is cooked. Remember there are two fuse boxes. So check them both.
