Dash lights not working.

need help! my car did not come with an owners manal. I instaled a CD player now my dash lights and automatic stick shift lights do not work! anyone have any ideas? where are the fuses? all in the engine? which one is it?

I'd check Fuse #2 (15A) underneath the hood, fusebox is on passenger side of vehicle. Hopefully it's not something more severe. Also might want to make sure you don't have any orange wires at the deck hooked up for now. Sounds like one of them may have shorted out and blown a fuse.

ya i have both of those hooked up to the same orange wire. is that a problem? thats all there is on the back of my deck. do the orange wires need to be hooked?

I recently had to change my Pioneers out.

The combination I had that has worked fine for 2 years is:

Metra harness Orange, going to Pioneer Orange/White.

Metra harness Orange/White isolated with heat shrink (or tape)

The 7th gen dash design will just about fade out the display on any unit you install, but it is nice to have them dim at night.

If your harness has an orange/black you'll want to cap that off as well. I would leave all the oranges unhooked until you get the dash lights working and then make the connection as Craig explained. How did that fuse look?

fuse was gone. but those wires will not work. i tried every combo too. oh well.

man i have had the same problem as u only for my automatic shift lights when out too. lol i never went into trying to fix it cause when I had to put my deck in it was too much bs trying to get to all the decks wires lol. GL with that after what everyone been saying imma pop my hood today and check my fuses. Thanks for start this thread bro!
