What Bulb Is This!!??!?!?!
hey, I bought some blacked out Halo lights from Ebay... they work fine, but the lights are HORRIBLE at best....
I wanna switch them with some HID's...
they are Sonar SK3302S-CV01
I have not found any info, and the seller is no longer registered...
I've seen a few members with these lamps and was hoping someone could give me some help... Thanks yall

Re: What Bulb Is This!!??!?!?!
how much do u wanna spend on a kit...you can go to www.xenondepot.com or www.xenonpros.com for philips or mcculloch or if u want oem equipment than go to www.hidexpert.com...
if u have the halo's tho i recommend just selling the headlights and using the oem housings because they will be brighter and less glare than aftermarket projectors
but if u wanna keep the aftermarket headlights go with a mcculloch kit

Re: What Bulb Is This!!??!?!?!
Sure call me nub, but what exactly is retro halo?
Anyways... I def. DONT have 400 bucks to spend on those Kits... The lights are projector based as best of my knowledge.. I did more searching here on the site and some1 mentioned H1, but I have not found anyone's Definate answer... I even saw someone with the Ebay listing posted lol But still no one has been able to tell me for sure...
Thanks again for the responses.

Re: What Bulb Is This!!??!?!?!
A retrofit is when you take a HID based projector ( D2S or D2R bulb ) and put it in place of the Halogen projector that it came with. The HID projector will differ in the way that it can have a different bowl, cutoff shield, lens and are usually higher quality. All of those characteristics make up the projector being able to handle the brighter light. They also will produce a wider beam. If you put an aftermarket HID kit into your halogen projectors, it will scatter the light everywhere as the projector was designed to handle the halogen bulb brightness. If you are considering doing either, I STRONGLY recommend using an upgraded wire harness so you don't fry your factory harness. The Retro will end up costing you more, but will be much safer for you and oncoming traffic. I used to have a plug and play H1 Hid Kit in my TYC Projectors, but quickly discarded them as it didn't produce light wide and far enough due to the lens. I will be doing a TYC/Valeo retrofit in the near future.
EDIT: The sonar's I believe are H1 for both Hi and Lo beam.

Re: What Bulb Is This!!??!?!?!
Wow! I think I love you hahaha
OK so what I get is. Because my housing is designed for halogen, using these HID bulbs will be Dangerous? Thats not good. Now these TYCs lights would have the complete set up already without the wiring harness and etc?
Dang it... trying to do these the cheap way and it never ends up cheap and easy Blah... Thank you Very much for the info...

The TYC projectors are just another halogen projector like your Sonar's, but they are better quality. You will still need to retrofit a HID projector in there, but if you choose a right one ( the Valeo requires little modification ) it can be easier to do.
As for the wiring harness, you will still DEFINITELY need one as you could do potential damage to your stock harness by hooking up the HID and you will prematurely damage the ballasts from switching on the Hi beam (Your Lo goes off when you switch to Hi ) Having a Custom harness not only allows you to protect your factory harness and HID equipment, but allows you to use the Lo and Hi beam at the same time if configured properly.
Do it right the first time and retrofit them.
