no need to shoot him down when hes offering other people help.
I might as well ask something to get this thread rolling, hmm.. So, if i'm planning on running one slimline sub with a custom fiberglass enclosure molded into the side of my trunk, what kind of amp do I need... such as mono or stereo and whats the difference, ect. [not planning on setting car alarms off- just looking for some energy to my tracks when I want it] Also I heard there was a formula for determining how much open space is needed in sub boxes. Does this formula hold true for slimline subs and fiberglass?

The subwoofer should list online how much space is reccomended for a sealed enclosure. It is usually less dependent on the wattage and size of the speaker, and more dependent upon the speaker itself. The enclosure sizes for 10 inchers are usually between .8 and 1.5 cubic feet per speaker. It usually doesnt hurt to go a little on the larger side, but if your trying to save space do be careful, because too small an enclosure can damage your sub and impede the sound. And as far as an amp, if you are only using one sub, than a mono amplifier would be the way to go. Just make sure the power that it runs at at 2 and 4 ohms match up with the speakers handling capabilities. I think a 2 channel (stereo) amp, would probably be overkill. If you are interested I have a rockford fosgate amp that I am trying to sell. It is a mono block and runs 350 watts RMS at 2 ohms. I am willing to part ways with it for 100 Bucks.
