I bought a Type-R, well i returned my MTX and bought the Type-R, so it cost me nothing. But I popped my trunk after playin in pretty hard and I smelled burning Voice Coil. What sub is out there, in the same price range as the Type-R (perhaps a wee bit more), that can take more juice?
infinity kappa perfects.. they need a little more juice to power but can handle it better than the alpine.
Edit: just read your other posts, i thought you were going for the perfect anyways? you can always go with an audiobahn 1200X or the alum12's.. if you don' t want to spend too much

Get the Solo... Also Return the damn Type-R... Get another one.. Wire the coils in Series!!!!.. you want an 8ohm load untill you buy a sub that can handle the power...Dude.. for once take my advice and don't do the exact opposite of what I saw lol.

that's funny. it seems like everytime he asks you for advice, he goes exactly opposite of what you say. he'll learn someday.
Alright, how's this sound. I buy the Phoenix Gold XMAX which is rated for 500RMS. I buy a Nakamichi PA-304 4 channel amp, & Kenwood 6.5 Components. Should I bother installing the 4 channel before I get new 6x9s? How hard is it to run speaker wire to the front, because i may as well do it now I suppose.

i don't know how many watts can the type-r take.. but the he2 from rf holds 400rms, 800 max, and at the moment, i am feeding a 1000watt amp at them, and theya re handling it like a champ... and you should always get a custom box... the box i have is so loud i am gonna sell my whole set up.. wayyyy too loud

You know, you really should take Mohawkboom's advice. Go with a 10 or 12 inch Solobaric. Personally, I'm gettin' two of 'em. I was gonna get two 12" L7s with a JBL BP600.1 amp, but since I'm gonna have a little extra money, I'm gonna go ahead and get the BP 1200.1. It's 1200wRMS 2400wPeak @ 2-ohms...it's awesome. If you got just one 12" L7, the BP 600.1 should power it just fine, and your eyes would be jiggling out of their sockets.
Oh, and Voiceofid...a system can never be too loud!
But Mohawk's Advice was to buy a Type-R DVC, run it in 8 ohm, then only be giving it 250watts RMS instead of 500 like i am with my SVC right now. That leave's me with the option of another type-r (run the two subs in parallel, with the Voicecoils wired in serial), or just get the new amp (PG QX900.1D) and the IDMAX later

That was my suggestion for a temporary fit untill you got your IDMAX.. Don't get an SPL 15.. unless you want it to sound like you have my Fat Grandmother in your backseat after eat a big bowl of Chille..lol..
Swap the Type R for the 4 ohm DVC Version (FREE!!!!) Save your damn money live with the 3 DBs less bass from the extra 250Wrms.. Whoopty Freeking do!!!.. and get the SUb you Claim you really want.. (IDMAX!!)
Either than or stop asking for advice cause you sure don't take anyone's

Wait wait wait... Get the XMAX 15 it's such an awesome.. stay far away from ther IDMAX it's not worth... saving up for what you said you really wanted is really dumb.. spend more money now and wait longer and waste more cash for nothing.. it's what I'd DO

totallly, it's all about the instant gratification, who care's if i think i'm stupid in a month. I want it NOW! haha, jk. I'm about to go swap for the DVC, although it will cost me 40 bucks because i bargained so low on the Type-R.
Alright mohawk, here you go, hopefully this is up to par with you. Tommarow, I'm buying that Nakamichi 30x4 (PA-304) amp for 100CDN, the Kenwood components (temp) for 50, Pioneer TS-905 6x9s, and getting the DVC type-R. think this will sound alright?
I can always get another amp in the long run. But it should sound a lot better than my Crap Sony HU. especially considering that I'm going from blown paper cone's powered by the HU, to new speakers, that aren't blown , and a Nak amp, with slightly more juice.
