lol....w/e floats ur boat is cool with me. all subs are cool in my book...well maybe those stock subs u get from the chevy dealerships in those equinox suv's aren't...but all aftermarket subs are good tho
well its mostly hand me downs that i couldnt say no to lol my brother used to do some crazy systems in his ITR so i got decent hand me downs.
headunit: eclipse by fujitsu ten- cd5443 (maybe 4 years old or 5)
mids: 2 sets of 5-1/8" boston acoustic nx57 (bought these)
amps: 2 rockford fosgates from like 95 haha but they were supposedly comp. level quality theyre 250.2 and 300.1
subs: 2 hand me down jl audio 12w3's (never used though) and i wired them in series parallel to bring the load down to 1 ohm and pull even more out of the amp.
capacitor: rockford fosgate 1farad, again old and actually not installed yet lol.
all the installation and wiring and building was done by myself with a lil help from my brother here and there just for advice and whatnot.
i know all this used stuff seems like the system is crap but trust me this system sounds great, all i wish i had was 6x9's in the rear for more midbass and a 4 channel amp for the speakers (right now all 4 are run off a 2 channel amp via an l-pad which gives me percentage control from front to rear. (im not sure if this reduces the ohm load pulling more watts or not....hopefully one of u can tell me lol)
ive still gotta make the wall surrounding the amp, mount the cap in the wall, install led backlighting, cut fiberglass sub grilles with JL and RF symbols "Floating" with blue leds in the grille.

yea, kicker for spl, me personally i like to hear music, not bass. hence why i have 10 speakers with one sub. basically you know those ricers that all you hear is bass? yea, thats spl, you know those people (that are much more rare) that pull up, and the mids, highs, and bass are all loud, clear and basically sounds like a concert in their car? thats me.

im with booba, i love hearing every frequency. my problem is time though, if i had more time id have a better system. oh and trust me for the guys who just want spl.....its dumb you get a headache right away and cant enjoy your music.
my subs are still freakin loud when theyre turned just about ALL the way down ( i know it sounds like exaggeration but im serious its at maybe 25% of its potential) and when i turn it all the way up with the subs turned up yea it sounds loud and i like it for a while, **** it even makes my rear windshield and roof pound in and out very noticeably and you feel air come from my trunk but for me its not worth the headache you get after a while. plus youve gotta really really try to get rid of rattle noises thats the gayest most annoying thing. but if youve got serious bass i understand a lil rattle.
booba can i ask how your powering all 10?
i was thinking of powering a additional set of 6x9's off the headunit itself and mounting them somehwere.....

sure, i've got kick panels (infinity reference coxal with kenwood tweets) powered off my clarion dxz855mp, and my kappa 6.5cs's wired with my sony xplod 6x9s (:barf: next thing to change) down to 2 ohms on my blaupunkt 500wrms. WHat deck are you running? and from what i've been told (my dad is a sound engineer) 6x9s aren't better for sq 6.5s are, especially components. A sound wave is round, 6x9s are oval, it's a bigger mass so it's loud, but a round speaker gives a cleaner sound wave and much more precise, hence why the square kickers are used for spl, not sq.

everyone has always asked about pictures of my setup, etc, and i haven't posted any in a year or so... but now that Kicker's 2006 lineup has been officially released, i'll be posting up some pics and specs as soon the remainder of the 'glass work is done...
the new setup is all 2006 gear:
-4 S12L7s (SoloBaric 12"s)
-2 ZX1500.1s (1500w x 1 @ 2 ohms)
-1 ZX350.4 (90w X 4)
-1 ZX650.4 (170w x 4)
-2 RS65.2 component sets (6.5" woofer / 1" tweeter)
-4 KS525s (5.25" coaxial / .75" tweeter)
-4 KS65s (6.5" coaxial / .75" tweeter)
-2 KS693s (6" x 9" triaxial / 2 x .75" tweeters)
i'll keep y'all posted as the project comes along... pics soon

My infinity sub hits pretty hard imo. I also think the bass is really clean as well. So it hits hard and clean, and again imo. These subs are really cheap in price too. I paid $70 cdn for mine, so that's like maybe $50-60 U.S. dollars.
