Making an on/off switch for my subs???

Can someone help me out with this?
I want to make a switch that is going to the subs i have in the trunk of my car so that on my bad days i dont have to hear them rumbling all the time or when i have to drive my parents somewhere because they hate it.
Which wires could i put a switch for?
and if this is even possible?

yes buy a cheap switch from any hardware store. just splice it in to the blue remote line on the back of the head unit.

Yeah I agree do it this way. My brother and friend did it in there own cars. it's better than having the feature on a deck that can do that. Funny things most people will think it's for something secret or special, just tell them that bad things will happen if they push it.

Ive never seen a deck that allows you to turn the sub or any of the preouts off, and i've owned and used a lot of decks.

jsut put a switch on your remote wire assuming you only have the 1 amp. I have one in my car under my dash on the drivers side

my alpine cda9847 has it. but personally i like the switch more. its a hidden feature. not hard to find but a switch is that much quicker.

the subwoofer off function in most cases just turns down the output for the sub but in some cases turns the whole option off. A switch to the remote wire in most cases is the option

either way i think the best way is the switch, its faster too. like if you roll into the mall. you can flick a switch and bam no more bass, instead of playin with your HU til you get to the setting to turn it off.

yeah, its possible...just put some sort of toggle/power switch between the amp and the battery....

although,...the pioneer 6700 h/u has this feature (on-off switch for subs) "easy access" to, no going through a million diff settings...

every HU I saw with a sub preout, had that feature, but switch is better because it's faster to turn it off and turn back on, plus it shuts down your amp as well, cause when shutting it off on the HU, it only stops the signal going through your sub out, so the amp stayes on.

i have my amps, L.E.D.s, etc. all run off of one switch mounted on the dash... that way when i go through the ECP on base, or get pulled over, i just hit one switch and everything shuts off except my head unit and door speakers...

i ran mine to a relay, since it's going to more than one component, but you get the idea... there a million pages that show how to hook up a relay and/or a switch (most of the time the instructions are even on the product packaging), but just holla if ya need any help... hope this helps... good luck!...
