Alternator for 03 Civic LX Sedan
How do I find out the engine code? Carfax says I have a 1.7L L4 SOHC PFI 16V engine Manufactured in Canada (My VIN does start with a 2). My problem is that alternator makers online say the HO alts do not fit the Civics made in Canada.

) The dealer told me " The Canadian alternators are not available. I cannot build one for you unless you send me the one on your car or a Canadian alternator to build. Can you send me some pics of the one on your car so I can see what the difference is in them ? I might be able to get one to work....?" I wanted to know if it made a difference if my car was manufactured in Canada or not since on EBAY I see a listing that said NOT FOR CIVICS MANUFACTURED IN CANADA. Where did you Canadian-built Civic owners get your HO alternators?
That's odd. When I got to Majestic and compare the OEM (Mitsubishi) alternator for a 2003 LX sedan to that of a 2003 LX coupe, the part numbers seem the same... I don't get why the HO alternator would not fit both vehicles.
