is the ground location sanded down to bare metal? It sounds like the ground point has alot of resistance, which leads to the electrical voltage being changed to heat. If you have access to a DMM, whats the voltage at the amp's power terminals?

it takes a ridiculous amount of current to do things like that to a 10 inch run of 4 gauge.

what amp are you using?

Another thought.. I don't think this would cause that much current but is your gain at the correct position for the voltage of your preouts?

i took it in today and they said taht it was one of two things
1. the ground is not grounding properly so it has to much resistants so they grounded it more
2. they amp was sucking up to much power so it was low voltage goin to the amp and causing it to do that

but who knows it seems to be ok for now

turboslug will become famous soon enoughturboslug will become famous soon enough
hmm...if ground was loose, wont there be a lot of sparks, and the constant sparking would cause a lot of heat?

maybe that's why it melted?

Thats why, When I installed for a shop we would send them back to crossfire but in order to get a credit it would have to be blown, we tried to plug them in to 115v wall socket and they would still work, until we plugged the 115v into the speaker output side of the amp. They are pretty well built amps.

NEVER threaten to sue, EVER, if you do 9/10 time they will say, "At this time I will have to end out conversation" you SCREW yourself over by threatening that, especially if u don't 100% intend to. Always ask to talk to a manager, go higher till u get what you want.
