Front Speakers

I need help on what component speaker to put. I know I either 5 1/4 or 6.5's will fit in the opening. I have a Pioneer 7300 HU with Polk dx9's in the rear. Crutchfield says JBL , Rockford Fostgate, Infinity and Kenwood are the only makers with component speakers that will fit the front door.

Any input will be appreciated.

Eman.. any 6.5" components will fit the front door. The only thing you have to watch for is that the speaker does not have a mounting depth of greater than 2.75" ...Infinity Kappa's and Perfects will fit.. And both sound more than awesome. As would DEI Studio components.. If you're running it off HU power and not gonna amp them.. Planet Audio makes some great components for low power useage.... I hope this helps..

Cheers

that is not entirely true...ur speaker can be deeper than that just requires more mods...i cut me a cuople pieces of pvc to keep the speaker further out away from the door just as the factory ones were...works just fine

Spoony with Spacers and without having the speakers surround hitting the door panles most mounting depth you can get away with without the window rubbing is 2.75" . With ym current speakers 3" monting depth My windows are like the rear windows.. Child safety ready lol.. they'll roll down and leave about 6" of glass showing..

I just recently put some infinity 600cs 6 1/2's in my doors (after fighting w/ the brackets to do so).. and it seems.. i've run into a prob on the passenger side.. drivers is fine.. passenger, when i roll the window down... when it gets to the bottom.. clunk (like it just hit the magnet or something) and yet when i put them in, i HAD hte windows down to check for such things.. (and the drivers side is fine and in hte same position), so i'll be pulling my door panel back off on that side to check it when i get time.. my major quam.. is that i can't use my tweeters in place of the stock tweeters (too damn big ).. ah well, it's amazing the sounds you can hear w/ those infinity's (reminds me why i love infinity), tho they don't always sound as "low" as the factory (and atm, requires me cranking the stock radio more)...
