idea to start a new project. NEED ADVICE!

i need some advice. im trying to **** a friend off by proving him wrong.. AND i think this would be ****ing killer

but i have not been into my dash enough and dont know 100%so im asking you feller's for some help this will help me decide if i wll do it or not.

basicly i have a 04 honda.. dx.
i want to pull my a/c and defrost controls etc.. and put them into a custom molding where my cup holders are.. at a custom made angle

this will remove the cup holders and remove mylittle useless pocket thats down there

but it would be one hell of a mod

then i plan to drop a 12 ish inch screen into the a/c control are spot

i'll be hopefully pulling it out this weekend to look and see if its EVEn possible

but im looking for opinions. i dont know a hell of a lot but i plan to purchase spare parts to play with untill im liken it

can i extend the controls? are they all wires? as i can extend wires with no problem. and them buttons. they jsut moemntary push buttons with led's?

ahh its all in thought process but i REEEALLY wanna do this i've heard of people moving these controls but i have yet to find any pics of them

I'd say just search if you're looking for pictures. yes they're all wires which can be extended.. pretty simple mod, just time consuming

nunzio42 is an unknown quantity at this point
look at derek-ceo car, it is really possible but not in one weekend unless u have perfect weather and a heat lamp to dry the glass and paint. just extened the wires similar to anything else, and then make a molding for ur dash to fit a screen in it, as for relocating the head unti get a unit that can play on its side and place it in the center box area. and then run a computer or something in the trunk. check out MP3car.com for any other questions.....

TAKE YOUR TIME IF U WANT IT DONE RIGHT.......infact u can possibly buy derek's old piece from him check out the for sale section.

Yeah you're looking at a weekend project if you spend all day on it.. the glassing will take the longest... the drying doesn't take THAT long as long as you mix the MEKP correctly with the resin.

Just buy derek's two pieces if he still has them. Ac in center console, Screen for carputer in dash. Yes, it's possible, how are your fabrication skills is the question.

Like pop said, if you can fabricate, you'll be fine. Don't worry about banging it out in one weekend though, just get it done at you leisure and take your time with it to get it right. If I had an idea of what you think the obstacles might be, I could help you better figure out whats possible/easy. I'll take a picture of anything you want right now if you let me know, I've got my dash completely torn apart.

if I remember right in order to relocate in an 04 you may have to have the wireing harness adapter that scoshe made because of the a/c heat controls built into the factory headunit. as for the rest its all in your fabrication skills and patience.

I'm not following you on the HVAC controls being built into the factory headunit. The HU has nothing to do with it. It would simply be a matter of splicing and extending the wires.
