Battery Guru Help!!!
i just recently relocated my battery to the trunk and decided to get me the YELLOW TOP D31T DEEP CYCLE BATTERY (so much people bitching about the fume exposure, but hey! better be safe than sorry
) D31T have 900 CCA and 1125 CA <<<since the OEM battery's about 500 CCA and about 650 CA... the question is, by switching to a higher amperage battery will this mess up my starter??? or will this do any harm to my car...
if I get two of the same specs Optima Yellow top 51, for my car and connect them together is this safer and better than getting 1 bigger and higher amp battery?
i.e.
2 Yellow Top 51---500+500 CCA and 625+625 CA---Price 270bucks
Yellow Top D31T---900 CCA and 1125 CA---Price 180bucks
just my main concern is if the Higher Amp battery mess up my starter or my car...

the way i understand it is your electrical components will only draw what they need. i think you would even be safe with a 5000cca battery. but make sure you have a charhing system to back up whatever you are running
it wont mess with your starter or anything like that.I have a yellow top in my 04 2dr and it is ok. The starter is a seperate entitiy from the starter and two wont mess it up and neither will one big one. I used to work at Best Buy installing and I am MECP certified. Holla

The 34/78 fits in the stock location with minimal adjustments.
I was going to get it but my store had the 51 so I just bought that.
The D31T seems pretty big so I doubt anyone has tried it on their Civic but it would more than likely work.
Also,
2 D51s...100CCA and 125CA more than one D31 for a whooping $90 more??
I say just get the D31
