New sub or not?????
Okay here is the situation I have a Alpine MRD-300 and a JL W3D2 v2 12 sub (The two ohm version
). (My amp is not one ohm stable) When I wire my sub in parallel I think I can only get 150 watts RMS out of my sub. I could just buy another sub exactly the same but the 4 ohm version and have my amp power it to 300 watts RMS (the max power) or just keep the setup that I have. will I notice any difference in the deepness of the bass or not. Please help me. My sub is only 1.5 yrs old a new one is about $345.00 CAD. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!

oh I see, dual 2ohm and ur amp is 300rms @ 2ohms and 150 @ 4, i'd say replace the amp or sub, because if you get another sub .. the most u could get is 300rms, /2 = 150 per sub, 150rms for a 300rms sub, why bother?
is that the sub u have? http://jlaudio.com/subwoofers/12w3v2.html
shmik1, yeah its dual 2-ohm.
check out the tutorials of wiring in paralell/series/etc etc at the jl site... http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html

Actually I was gonna sell my other sub and go with a 4 ohm sub only what do you think???
300 rms @ 2ohms
150 rms @ 4 ohms
But since I have a DVC 2 ohm sub I cant wire it in series cause it will create a 1 ohm load and my amp isn't stable at 1 ohm.
