I like the center console idea alot but I do like to keep stuff in there, and I want to be able to keep using it becuase my plans for the near future are to make a colored plexi panel to go in the glovebox and hold some gauges and switches and stuff so storage of stuff in the glovebox will be out when that happens, so if I do a custom install in both places I won't have anywhere to store anything out of view. Although while I am writing this I am considering it, so time will tell

i don't really recommend the center console idea if it's not going to be permanent...the head unit was too deep to fit without modification, and i didn't want to cut the bottom out of the console because i knew sooner or later that i would be redoing the system (as always)...so instead i disassembled the console and replaced all the screws holding the inside (the bucket part) to the rest of the console with nuts & bolts with spacers to just lower the inside of the console a couple of inches...a major pain in the a$$, and even though the install looked really clean, it was probbaly more trouble than it was worth...
i won't be back at my house for a couple more days, but once i'm back i'll try to take some new pics ASAP...
